Should every player tryout for Columbia United Volleyball?

Probably not, some players may find a better fit with another club. Players who don’t intend to play for Columbia United shouldn’t go through our tryouts. Players from last year’s Columbia United’s teams must all tryout again. No player is guaranteed a spot. Players who were not offered a position the previous year are always welcome to go through tryouts the following year (regardless of where they played the prior year) … sometimes we simply don’t have a spot for a player we really like.

How many girls will be on a team?

To give the girls, the most playing time, we will keep teams to 8-10 players.

What do I need to bring to tryouts?

Players should arrive about 15 minutes prior to tryouts.

Are tryouts open?

No, tryouts will be closed.  Parents are encouraged to come in and fill out the necessary registration paperwork but will be asked to leave.

When do I find out if I made a team?

Columbia United coaches & staff will attempt to call each player selected within 6 hours. It takes time to talk to each girl, but we believe it is important to talk directly to each of them. If your player is not selected, you will receive and email within 24 hours.
